Abstract
[EN] This contribution outlines the methodological results of the PRIN 2022 project Deconstructing Lombard Identity, focusing on the cataloguing of Romanesque sculpture in Lombardy. Collaboration with the ICCD led to the development of new modules for documenting architectural sculpture within the forthcoming CLIO system, emphasizing controlled vocabularies, hierarchical records, and precise contextualisation of sculptural elements. Three operative units tested the model in selected areas –Milan, Lodi, and northeastern Lombardy – revealing previously overlooked evidence, refining chronologies, and clarifying workshop relationships. The work demonstrates how philologically rigorous cataloguing can generate new interpretative insights and provide a solid basis for future research on Lombard Romanesque sculpture
