[EN] The aim of this article is to describe the primary changes in southern Italy’s political society between the end of the 10th century and the 12th, focusing on the Normans’ impact on the Byzan-tine provinces and the Lombard principalities. / [IT] L’obiettivo di questo articolo è descrivere i principali cambiamenti nella società politica dell’Italia meridionale tra la fine del X secolo e il XII, concentrandosi sull’impatto dei Normanni sulle province bizantine e sui principati longobardi.
