Abstract

[EN] This essay aims to contribute to the reopening of the debate on the emergence of new forms of political and social resistance as a historical turning point that occurred roughly between 950 and 1030. It begins by recalling the closing pages of Bloch’s Société féodale, devoted to the no-tion of a ‘right of resistance’, and reconstructs its historiographical background. In light of the renewed framework of feudalism studies following the publication of Susan Reynolds’ "Feud and Vassals", the essay then proposes to apply Bloch’s insight to the role of the milites in the society of the Regnum italicum from the mid-10th century to the first decades of the 11th, highlighting the role of horizontal ties. / [IT] Questo saggio intende contribuire alla riapertura del dibattito sull’emergere di nuove forme di resistenza politica e sociale come svolta storica collocabile approssimativamente tra il 950 e il 1030. Esso prende avvio richiamando le pagine conclusive della Société féodale di Bloch, dedicate alla nozione di ‘diritto di resistenza’, e ne ricostruisce il retroterra storiografico. Alla luce del rinnovato quadro degli studi sul feudalesimo successivo alla pubblicazione di "Fiefs and Vassals" di Susan Reynolds, il saggio propone quindi di applicare l’intuizione di Bloch al ruolo dei milites nella società del Regnum italicum dalla metà del X secolo ai primi decenni dell’XI, mettendo in evidenza l’importanza dei legami orizzontali.
