Abstract

Abstract - The paper focuses on the guidelines and procedures that have been followed for the complete lemmatisation of part of the Medieval Latin documentary texts contained in the MED.ITA-LEMM module, and which will have to be fully applied to the entire MED.ITA corpus. The work focuses on an operating manual (§§ 1-3) that defines the rules and standards of lemmatisation, currently implemented in the GATTO 3.3 digital management environment and structured in many respects according to the lemmatisation rules of the TLIO Corpus. The introduction (§ 0) explains the meaning and principles of lemmatisation, based on a machine vocabulary modelled essentially on the lexical repertoire of the Latin and Medieval Latin reference lexicons, which nevertheless takes into account the Italo-Romance lexical model from which the numerous loanwords introduced into the Latin of the texts originate. In these terms, the machine vocabulary doesn’t derive from the importation of the lexical list coming from specific dictionaries, but is the product of a reasoned comparison between the words in the corpus and the lexical repertoire of the set of dictionaries taken as a reference. | Il contributo è incentrato sugli orientamenti e le procedure che sono state seguite per la lemmatizzazione integrale di una parte dei testi mediolatini documentari contenuti nel modulo MED.ITA-LEMM, e che si dovranno applicare per esteso all’intero corpus MED.ITA. Focus dell’articolo è un manuale operativo (§§ 1-3) che definisce le regole e gli standard della lemmatizzazione, al momento realizzata nell’ambiente di gestione digitale di GATTO 3.3 e strutturata per molti aspetti secondo le norme di lemmatizzazione del Corpus TLIO. Nella premessa (§ 0) si indicano il senso e i principi della lemmatizzazione, basata su un vocabolario di macchina esemplato fondamentalmente sul repertorio lessicale dei lessici latini e mediolatini di riferimento, che tiene conto, tuttavia, del modello lessicale italoromanzo da cui provengono i numerosi prestiti immessi nel latino dei testi. Il vocabolario di macchina, in questi termini, non deriva dall’importazione del lemmario di vocabolari specifici ma è il prodotto di un confronto ragionato tra le parole del corpus e il repertorio dell’insieme dei lessici assunti come riferimento.
