Abstract

[IT] Il contributo presenta due testamenti inediti rinvenuti nel 2025 presso l'Archivio di Stato di Palermo, in un registro del notaio saccense Nicolò Randazzo (reg. 17845) rimasto inaccessibile per decenni. I documenti — il testamento dell'ebrea Muna (2 novembre 1447) e quello del marito Brachonus Xilluli (16 aprile 1448) — recano in calce le firme di quattordici testimoni ebrei in giudeo-arabo. Questi due atti si aggiungono al corpus già noto di documenti notarili saccensi con sottoscrizioni in caratteri ebraici, portandone il numero da 27 a 29. Il contributo ne offre trascrizione, commento storico e analisi delle firme (quest'ultima a cura di Giuseppe Mandalà e Mauro Perani), con particolare attenzione alla situazione patrimoniale e familiare dei testatori, ai legami tra le comunità ebraiche di Sciacca e Caltabellotta, e alle dinamiche onomastiche del giudeo-arabo siciliano, dove nomi ebraici e arabi coesistono con adattamenti in siciliano. / [EN] Egra corpore sana tamen mente et racionabilis intellectus. Two unpublished wills in Sciacca from the 15th century with signatures in Hebrew characters This article presents two unpublished wills discovered in 2025 at the State Archive of Palermo, in a register of the Sciaccan notary Nicolò Randazzo (reg. 17845) that had been inaccessible for decades. The documents — the will of the Jewish woman Muna (2 November 1447) and that of her husband Brachonus Xilluli (16 April 1448) — bear at the foot the signatures of fourteen Jewish witnesses written in Hebrew characters, in Judeo-Arabic. These two acts join the already known corpus of Sciaccan notarial documents with Hebrew subscriptions, raising the total from 27 to 29. The article provides their transcription, historical commentary, and analysis of the signatures (bu Giuseppe Mandalà and Mauro Perani), with particular attention to the testators' familial and economic circumstances, to the close ties between the Jewish communities of Sciacca and Caltabellotta, and to the onomastic dynamics of Sicilian Judeo-Arabic, where Hebrew and Arabic names coexist with Sicilian adaptations.
