Abstract
[IT] Lorem ipsum / [EN] Porcelio de' Pandoni's De felicitate temporum divi Pii II presents itself as a com-plex work, marked by a wide variety of content, interlocutors and addressees, genres and forms, in which poetry intertwines with history, oratory, and pa-negyric. The title De felicitate, centered on a fundamental concept in humanistic literature, announces the author's unique perspective on the history of the pontificate of Pius II as a new golden age, guaranteed by divine favor, predestination, and the pope's personal virtue, and experienced by the poet himself as an eyewitness. This essay attempts a first approach to reading this unpublished work by Porcelio de' Pandoni, focusing on the theme of the crusade against the Turks, which was undoubtedly the fulcrum of Pius II's pontificate.
