Abstract

[IT] La teorizzazione politica che si sviluppa nel regno di Francia negli ultimi secoli del Medioevo non è né uniforme (esistevano altri modelli di governo) né lineare, tanto che i capricci del contesto influenzarono e infuenzarono le norme del potere regio dal XIII al XV secolo. Tuttavia, possiamo identificare un fondamento religioso, politico e storico che viene quasi invariabilmente ripetuto come fosse un’antifona nelle artes gubernandi, anche quando le norme si evolvono per trasformare il re da minister Dei a magister hominum. / [EN] Political theorising, as observed in the kingdom of France in the last centuries of the Middle Ages, is neither uniform - other models of government existed - nor linear, so much so that the vagaries of context influenced and inflected the norms of royal power from the thirteenth to the fifteenth century. Nevertheless, we can identify a religious, political and historical underpinning that was almost invariably repeated like antiphons in the artes gubernandi, even as the norms evolved to transform the king from minister Dei to magister hominum.
