Abstract

Secondo un pagamento registrato nel Secondo Libro dei conti di Jean Sapin presso l’Archives nationales de France, un pittore reale di Amboise di nome Laurent Boudry nominò Giovanni Francesco Melzi come esecutore del suo testamento e Leonardo da Vinci come suo erede. Sebbene non siano disponibili ulteriori informazioni sul pittore deceduto, il lascito di Boudry testimonia gli stretti legami con la comunità artistica locale che Leonardo e Melzi avevano stabilito nel loro nuovo domicilio. | According to a payment recorded in the Second Account Book of Jean Sapin at the Archives nationales de France, a royal painter at Amboise named Laurent Boudry appointed Giovanni Francesco Melzi as the executor of his testament and Leonardo da Vinci as his heir. Although nothing further is known about the deceased painter, Boudry’s bequest testifies to the close ties with the local artistic community that Leonardo and Melzi had established in their new domicile.
