Abstract
[IT] Il presente contributo tende a mettere in luce il rapporto stretto che sussiste fra agiografia e brevità, mostrando come diversi elementi significativi in tal senso emergano già nei rari studi a carattere teorico-letterario che propongono modelli formali per lo studio dell’agiografia. In un secondo tempo, tali concetti sono discussi dal punto di vista del loro statuto categoriale di “forme”, “modi” o “trans-generi”. The paper aims at defining the strong link subsisting between literary hagiography and the characteristics of short literary forms. As the some few theoretical models for the study of literary hagiography discussed here show, the categorial status of both “hagiography” and “shortness” as “forms”, “modes” or “trans-genres” reveals an appalling set of similarities.
