Abstract
[IT] L’articolo si propone di offrire un contributo al chiarimento di una questione legata alla materia brendaniana: i possibili rapporti tra la Navigatio sancti Brendani, il Voyage de saint Brendan di Benedeit, e due particolari versioni in prosa latina, riportate nei manoscritti Oxford, Bodleian Library, E Musaeo 3 e Lisboa, Biblioteca Nacional, Alcobaça CCLVI/380. Il confronto integrale tra queste quattro versioni della leggenda di Brendano ha permesso di stabilire che i due testimoni tramandano due traduzioni in latino indipendenti del Voyage de saint Brendan. The paper sheds light on the relationship between the Navigatio sancti Brendani, Bendeit’s Voyage de saint Brendan and two particular versions in Latin prose provided by the manuscripts Oxford, Bodleian Library, E Musaeo 3 and Lisboa, Biblioteca Nacional, Alcobaça CCLVI/380. The thorough comparison between these four versions of the legend of Brendan has allowed to establish the fact that both witnesses hand down two independent Latin translations of the Voyage of saint Brendan.
