Abstract
[IT] Contro l’interpretazione tradizionale (Bédier, Roques), viziata dall’esegesi della parola adenz, che è una lezione molto problematica (per il fatto d’essere in realtà uno dei documentabili tic del copista del Roland di Oxford) da correggere ricorrendo alla tradizione beta della chanson, il saggio indica che le morti di Orlando, Olivieri e Turpino sono raccontate secondo una sapiente variazione narrativa che fa del primo un capitano glorioso e un vassallo fedele, del secondo un soldato profondamente religioso e del terzo, specularmente, un religioso combattente. Da un caso di microfilologia (una lezione facilior ripetuta piú d’una volta) si arriva cosí a una migliore comprensione letteraria di tre episodi del poema. Going against the traditional interpretation (Bédier, Roques), spoiled by the exegesis of the word adenz, which is a very problematic lectio (because it is in fact one of the documented tics by the Roland copist from Oxford), and to be corrected using the beta tradition of the chanson, the essay points out that the deaths of Roland, Oliver and Turpin are told using a skillful narrative variation that pictures the first one as a glorious captain and a loyal vassal, the second one as a profoundly religious soldier, and the third, in a specular fashion, as a religious fighter. From a case of microphilology (a lectio facilior repeated more than once) a better literary comprehension of three episodes of the poem is achieved.
