Abstract

[IT] Questo studio intende esaminare i rapporti tra la Repubblica di Venezia e la Sardegna nel periodo che va dalla fine del XIII alla metà del XV secolo da una prospettiva essenzialmente veneziana, cioè attraverso l’esame, quasi esclusivamente, di fonti veneziane. Il lavoro è articolato su tre ambiti tematici: la politica, il commercio e la pirateria, essenziali per i rapporti sardo veneti attraverso i quali si cercherà di ragionare su: (1) la dinamica dei rapporti nei singoli ambiti e nel complesso, (2) il carattere generale dei rapporti e come i tre ambiti siano o meno interconnessi tra di loro, (3) l'importanza della Sardegna per Venezia. / [EN] This study examines the relations between Venice and Sardinia from the late 13th to the mid-15th century through the perspective of Venetian sources. Politics, trade, and piracy are essential thematic areas to analyse Venetian-Sardinian relations. By focusing on them, this article will reflect on (1) the dynamics of the relations in question both in general terms and in relation to these three spheres (2) the mutual connection between politics, commerce, and piracy, as well as (3) the importance of Sardinia for Venice.
