Abstract

[FR] L’article se centre sur trois sermons In translatione, dont l’un se publie en annexe. Ils nous ont été transmis par le dominicain Giovanni Regina, important thomiste et frère de San Domenico Maggiore de Naples. Datables du second quart du XIVe siècle, ces allocutions accompagnaient un moment crucial dans la célébration des défunts de la première dynastie angevine de Sicile-Provence. Entendons le transfert d’une dépouille de sa sépulture provisoire à sa tombe définitive, soit l’un de ces tombeaux parthénopéens bien connus pour leur caractère spectaculaire. La singularité des textes considérés a été négligée. Ils ne sont pas seulement sans équivalent connu. Ils offrent une clef pour interpréter les pratiques funéraires pléthoriques voulues par les Anjou. Ils enseignent, en bref, comment les hiérarchies terrestres se prolongent dans l’au-delà. / [EN] The essay focuses on three In translatione sermons, of which one is published here, transmitted by the Dominican Giovanni Regina, an important Thomist and friar of San Domenico Maggiore of Naples. Placed in the second quarter of the fourteenth century, they correspond to a crucial moment of the celebrations orchestrated by the first Angevin dynasty of the Kingdom, for its deceased. It is the transport of the body from a temporary burial to the definitive tomb, that is, in one of those tombs well known for their spectacularity and magnificence. These are texts that have been neglected despite their singularity and that are a key to interpret the meaning of the attentions that the Anjou devoted to funeral worship. Put simply, unique in their kind, they teach how earthly hierarchies extend into the afterlife.
