Abstract

The study focuses on the analysis of the imaginary (city) of Perugia, graphic novel of six hundred years of history that shows the deep bond between the ‘representation of the form’ and the ‘form of representation’. The harmony of a rich and paradigmatic production of urban iconography reveals, in the reading of his clear evolution marked by small changes rather than abrupt leaps of inventiveness, the tendentiousness of representation, clearly subject to the ideological needs. The demarcation of the architectural polarities is interpreted through an analysis based on the primitive algorithms of the point and the line. Accordingly with the gestalt interpretation, the artistic research of the Bauhaus and the Lynchian memory, therefore are revealed the implicit connections between the ‘representation of the place’ and the ‘place of representation’.
